Kataragama Mahadevale is a Hindu temple situated near Tissamaharama in Sri Lanka's south-eastern corner, close to the edge of Yala National Park. As a place of active worship rather than a museum piece, the temple draws both devout pilgrims and curious visitors throughout the year.
