Arugam Bay is a coastal settlement on Sri Lanka's eastern seaboard, where a gently curved sandy bay draws visitors seeking both relaxation and the waves for which this stretch of coastline has earned an international reputation among surfers. The town itself has grown organically around its beach-facing strip, offering a range of accommodation, cafés and small restaurants within easy reach of the shore.
