Located near Hikkaduwa, the site gives a straightforward look at traditional mining methods that have changed little over generations. Visitors can observe workers at various stages of the process, from excavation to the sorting and polishing of rough stones. Most tours conclude at an adjacent showroom where finished moonstones and other local gems are displayed and sold.
